In order to allow Windows to show the file extentions for every file do the following: INI files have a different icon then TXT files. The "save file trick" (that I think your talking about) will only work if you have a save that was made by using an IPS patch (as I stated on that post I have not tried this trick myself so there are not yet any guarentees).
